Don’t Bandage The Problem Fix The Root Cause

Don’t Bandage the Problem. Fix the Root Cause. 🔧🧠

In troubleshooting, there is a big difference between making a problem disappear and actually fixing the problem.

You can put a bandage over an issue and say, “It’s fixed.”

But if the root cause is still there, the problem isn’t fixed.

It’s only waiting to happen again.

The same is true at work—and in life.

Don’t ignore warning signs.
Don’t cover up symptoms.
Don’t silence the person pointing out the problem.
Don’t replace a part without understanding why it failed.

Stop. Investigate. Find the root cause. Correct it. Verify the repair.

A true troubleshooter doesn’t ask:

“How can I make this look fixed?”

They ask:

“Why did this happen, and what do we need to do so it doesn’t happen again?”

Because a temporary patch may make things look good today…

…but a proper solution protects tomorrow.

Don’t bandage problems.
Don’t hide failures.
Don’t accept “good enough.”
Troubleshoot. Understand. Correct. Verify.

That mindset works on the test bench.

And it works in life. 🐎
