Saturday Morning Reflection | The Mustang Advantage 🐎

There are jobs people see, and then there are jobs whose importance is not always visible.

For more than a decade, I have been part of the aerospace industry, working at Unison, a GE Aerospace company, as a Final Electrical Troubleshooter Tester 3.

My work involves testing electrical systems and exciters, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring that components meet their required specifications.

To someone looking from the outside, it may seem like just another technical job.

But to me, it represents something much greater.

Behind Every Test Is a Responsibility

In aerospace, precision is not optional. Every measurement, every connection, every reading, and every troubleshooting decision matters.

When something does not perform as expected, the responsibility is to investigate, identify the problem, and understand what is happening rather than simply move on.

It requires patience, technical knowledge, discipline, and the ability to remain focused when things become challenging.

You learn that experience is valuable, but experience alone is not enough. You must continue learning, adapting, and improving.

That mindset extends far beyond the workplace.

The Lessons My Career Has Taught Me

Over the years, I have learned three important lessons:

1. Excellence is found in the details.

The smallest overlooked detail can become the biggest problem. Take pride in doing things correctly, even when nobody is watching.

2. Experience is earned, not given.

Every challenge, every difficult troubleshooting situation, and every lesson contributes to professional growth.

3. Your work is part of your character.

A job title does not define your worth. Your integrity, work ethic, accountability, and willingness to help others say much more about who you are.

More Than a Paycheck

I am proud to be part of American aerospace manufacturing.

As an American citizen who came to this country as a refugee, I understand the value of opportunity. I know what it means to start over, work hard, and build a life through perseverance.

My career is one chapter of that journey.

And while technology continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: the importance of people who take responsibility for the quality of their work.

Because behind every machine, every electrical system, and every technological achievement, there are human beings applying knowledge, skill, and dedication.

A Final Thought

Whether you are an electrician, engineer, mechanic, technician, assembler, or working in an entirely different profession, never underestimate the value of what you contribute.

You may not always receive recognition.

You may not always hear a thank-you.

But your commitment to doing the job right still matters.

Work with precision. Live with integrity. Never stop learning.

That is the Mustang mindset.
